Volunteer work in AIDS support centres is becoming more and more diverse, and good qualifications are important.
Prevention work forms a valuable foundation of AIDS work, which would otherwise be impossible without volunteer support. Current prevention strategies are important for this work and will be discussed in the training. In addition, exchanging information with other volunteers or full-time staff is highly important. This strengthens the networking among staff members to further promote cooperation in field work and so that people can benefit from the experiences of others.
The checkpoints in Baden-Württemberg also rely on volunteers. This is precisely where difficult counselling situations can arise and one reaches one's limits. The training serves as an opportunity to talk with other counsellors and provides professional expertise.
Team building is also an important part of the volunteer training.
The volunteer training courses are offered annually and cover different topics.
In 2023, the training is expected to be held in presence. Further information will follow.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration from state funds approved by the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg.
